This semester thesis (minor) was created at the Institute of Neuroinformatics of ETH and University of Zurich together with Thomas Dübendorfer. It was supervised by Dr. Peter König, Konrad Körding (INI) and Dr. Jakob Bernasconi (ETH)
In this project, we worked on the learning of natural images in the visual system of a cat’s brain. We developed a complete simulation software, from the input of images from a video camera, the preprocessing of the images as known to occur in certain areas of the brain, up to the simulation of a learning algorithm (where the theory was developed by the supervisors). Everything was packaged in a MATLAB environment, including a complete User Interface and visualization of the inner workings of the algorithm.
